Main responsibilities
Phil is General Counsel of Aviva Investors and is a member of the Aviva Investors Executive Committee. He is responsible for leading the global legal function across all sectors and locations.
Experience and qualifications
Phil was appointed as General Counsel of Aviva Investors in July 2018, leading a global function of over 70 staff and is a member of both the Aviva Investors Executive team and the Aviva plc General Counsel’s Legal Executive. Prior to assuming the General Counsel role, he headed up the UK Legal Trading team and overseas legal teams in Aviva Investors France, Poland, Singapore and the U.S. Phil has over twenty years’ experience and, before joining Aviva Investors, worked at BNY Mellon Asset Management and Newedge UK. Phil has also worked for leading law firms in London and Sydney. Phil has a degree in Law from the University of Liverpool and is currently studying for an Executive MBA.
