(London) – Aviva investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc (‘Aviva’), has made two appointments to the portfolio management team of its Global Buy-and-Maintain Credit business, hiring Justine Vroman as Senior Portfolio Manager and promoting Matt Raque to Portfolio Manager.

The additions follow the appointment of Iain Forrester as Global Head of Buy-and-Maintain Credit, who moved from his previous role as Head of Insurance and Pensions Solutions in February 2020. Both Justine and Matt will report directly to Iain.

Justine joins Aviva Investors with nine years of portfolio management experience, having previously worked at Pictet Asset Management where she was lead Portfolio Manager across a number of Euro and US Dollar denominated investment grade and crossover credit funds and mandates. Justine also contributed to the development of a proprietary ESG framework which was implemented in the Pictet Global Sustainable Credit fund of which she was lead Portfolio Manager. Justine has a Master’s in Management from EDHEC Business School in France and a MSc in Finance, obtained in the UK at the University of Strathclyde. She is also a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA).

Matt was previously a Senior Research Analyst in Aviva Investors’ Chicago office, responsible for the Global Healthcare and Pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to joining Aviva Investors, he was a Senior Analyst at Allstate Investments covering several investment grade sectors including Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals, Autos and Diversified Industrials. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Saint Louis University, as well as the CFA® designation. He is a member of both the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

Iain Forrester, Global Head of Buy-and-Maintain Credit at Aviva Investors, said:

“We welcome both Justine and Matt to the team in their new roles. Justine brings a wealth of global experience to the team, which will be a great asset as we seek out the best relative value opportunities and provide differentiated thinking at a portfolio level. Her experience in developing ESG tools tailored for credit management will be invaluable as we seek ways to reflect those values in our investments and long-term performance. Matt’s knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors are particularly relevant in today’s world, whilst we expect his coverage of automotive companies to prove invaluable given the transformational changes occurring in the sector. We believe both Justine and Matt will greatly benefit the business and, ultimately, deliver positive results for our clients.”

Aviva Investors Global Buy-and-Maintain team currently manages £31.4bn of assets across a variety of insurance and pension mandates.
