(London) - Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, has launched OEIC feeder versions of the Aviva Stewardship Funds to bring the range to the UK wholesale market.
The Stewardship Funds, managed by Aviva Investors since 2018, have a proud heritage as the country’s first ethical fund range which incorporates environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations. Launched in 1984, the range currently has £2.5bn of assets under management* and incorporates four funds:
- Aviva Investors Stewardship UK Equity, managed by Trevor Green and Tom Grant
- Aviva Investors Stewardship UK Equity Income, managed by James Balfour
- Aviva Investors Stewardship International Equity, managed by Jaime Ramos-Martin
- Aviva Investors Stewardship Fixed Interest, managed by Tom Chinery
Aviva Investors maintains the policy that guides the funds and ensures they continue to adhere to the Stewardship philosophy. The funds aim to: exclude companies that do not meet certain ethical standards or that harm society or the environment; support companies that make a positive contribution to society; and encourage better business practices through shared ownership and dialogue.
Apiramy Jeyarajah, UK Head of Wholesale, Aviva Investors said:
“The reputation of the Stewardship Fund range speaks for itself and we’re excited to bring this new vehicle to the UK wholesale market. Aviva Investors has long been at the forefront of responsible investment, and these funds are testament to the longevity of our commitment. ESG and ethical investing is now more than ever a key focus for the asset management industry, and the launch of the OEIC feeders into our Stewardship Funds will give the UK wholesale market more flexibility and ease with which to choose to invest responsibly”
Steve Waygood, Chief Responsible Investment Officer, Aviva Investors said:
“It’s now almost three years since Aviva Investors took over management of the Stewardship Funds and we’re delighted to take the Stewardship story a step further by launching the OEIC feeder versions. The philosophy of the range acknowledges that the products and services that companies provide can either help or hinder the development of a sustainable future. This new development will help provide even greater access to those who want their money to help power a transition to a more sustainable future”
