Main responsibilities
Emily leads the social impact strategy across a diverse portfolio of funds in the UK and Europe. Emily works closely with development partners and asset supply chains to embed social value into real estate projects, ensuring employment, upskilling, and education outreach are core components of delivery.
With a background in sustainable finance and a passion for driving long-term impact, her work bridges the gap between investment performance and purposeful outcomes, helping shape resilient, inclusive communities.
Emily is particularly interested in policy innovation and the evolving role of private capital in addressing systemic challenges. She collaborates across teams to develop strategies that are both commercially sound and socially transformative.
Experience and qualifications
Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Emily worked at Buro Happold, where she played a central role in the development of its social value service line and the establishment of the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Guidance for implementing social value on built environment projects.
Emily holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Sustainability from the University of Leeds and, a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in German with International Business from Leeds Beckett University.
