Biography
Main responsibilities
John joined Aviva in 2017 and is the Group Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for all aspects of technology within Aviva including Cyber Security.
John was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Aviva Investors Holdings Limited in September 2022, and to the Aviva Investors Global Services Limited board in January 2025. He is also a member of the Aviva Group Executive Committee and of a number of other internal boards.
Experience and qualifications
John is passionate about Aviva’s Environmental, Social and Governance agenda, and is a member of the Aviva Sustainability Ambition Group. He is also the Chair of the One Aviva Inclusion Council which champions Aviva’s diversity, equality and inclusion agenda.
Prior to Aviva, he was the Deputy Chief Information Officer at Vodafone UK and held several senior IT roles at BT, where his final role was an international assignment setting up their Global Development Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Outside of work John is a keen golfer and motor racing fan, he lives in London and has 3 grown up daughters.
