Biography

Main responsibilities

Cynthia leads investment activity across fintech and insurtech, focusing on originating, assessing and executing new investments, while supporting portfolio companies through scaling and growth.

She also contributes to strategic M&A activity and represents Aviva in the UK’s Invest in Women Taskforce, helping to drive increased capital allocation to female founders and fund managers. 

Experience and qualifications

Cynthia joined Aviva Ventures in 2023, following four years as Head of Group M&A at Aviva, where she led strategic transactions across Aviva Group.

Prior to this, she was an investment banker at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citigroup in London, advising financial institutions and fintech companies and building a broad network across the financial services ecosystem.

Cynthia has led multiple multi billion-dollar M&A transactions and capital raisings, as well as venture investments (including Rendesco, Alloyed and Empathy) and fund commitments (such as Oxford Science Enterprises, Lakestar and Lansdowne Partners). She currently serves on several LP advisory committees and holds board observer roles.

She holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and is a CFA charterholder.
