(London) – Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc (‘Aviva’), has completed a leasing agreement with STERIS Instrument Management Services (‘STERIS IMS’) at Barwell Business Park in South West London.
STERIS IMS, a global innovator of medical devices and infection control solutions, supports NHS Trusts across the country with medical device decontamination services and the manufacture and repair of medical devices. As part of the deal, STERIS IMS will occupy Units 1 to 4 at Barwell Business Park, which together represent approximately 41,000 sq ft of space. The site will be used for the decontamination and sterilization of NHS medical devices, including surgical instruments and endoscopes.
The units are expected to be fully operational by February 2021, with capacity to process 15 million medical instruments a year, making it STERIS IMS’s largest facility.
STERIS IMS is the fourth business to move into Barwell Business Park in 2020, highlighting tenant demand for business park space near cities. Other tenants that have recently occupied units in the business park include Opcare, an innovator in prosthetics, orthotics, posture and mobility devices, and Stulz, a leader in temperature and humidity technology.
Colin Lawrence-Waterhouse, Asset Manager, Real Estate, Aviva Investors, said:
“We are delighted to welcome STERIS IMS to Barwell Business Park. Whilst this letting is testament to the park, its location and the role it plays in the borough, its impact on the health service across the region will be more significant.
“Barwell represents a differentiated offering in the London market, attracting occupiers that seek a business park environment rather than a traditional industrial estate. This agreement highlights the strong demand from tenants for high-quality facilities, with the park aligned to our strategy of investing in prime real estate assets in core locations.”
