Hope Johnson

Hope leads investment activity across climate, energy and sustainability, focusing on originating, assessing and executing new opportunities, while supporting portfolio companies through scaling and growth.

She invests in businesses driving the transition to a more sustainable economy, with an emphasis on scalable opportunities capable of delivering strong commercial and financial outcomes. Hope also leads the team’s internal and external communications and strategic marketing initiatives. 

Hope studied Mathematics and Finance at the College of William & Mary in Virginia, while also competing on the Division 1 tennis team.

She began her career at Boston Consulting Group in Washington, D.C., working across the retail, public and private sectors in the USA, with a focus on investment firms with an impact mandate. She subsequently completed her MBA at Harvard Business School before relocating to London.

Hope started her investment career at Planet First Partners, a €500m pan-European growth fund focused on climate and health technology, where she progressed to Principal. She later joined Octopus Ventures, focusing on seed and Series A investments across climate and fintech, holding eight board positions, before joining Aviva Investors.
