Responsible for ensuring suitable skills and employment support for national and regional construction employers and key stakeholders

Experience and qualifications

Carl has enjoyed a diversity of roles working in skills and employment for the past 25 years+ across a variety of leading companies in education, recruitment and construction, London and nationwide. He spent many of those years overseeing a number of flagship DWP and DfE welfare to work and skills programmes (New Deal, Work Programme, Skills for Jobs) targeting harder to reach and under-represented groups into employer-led training and sustainable employment.

In recent years, Carl has focused on the construction industry as strategic training lead at the National Specialist Contractors Council NSCC (now Build UK following a UKCG merger) directly supporting over 30 specialist federations, Business Development at the Construction Industry Training Board CITB responsible for GB sales across CITB’s full commercial portfolio (National Construction College, CSkills Awards, Site Safety Plus, CSCS testing centres, and International delivery). And latterly and currently sitting in the CITB Partnership and Customer Engagement teams with a particular focus on connecting the main players across our busy skills and employment eco-system (construction employers large and SME, key stakeholders such as major clients/projects, local government, federations, and providers both FE and private) to the range of CITB and partner products, services and funding, designed to enable and drive more opportunity and prosperity for the people and businesses in the construction industry.
