Main responsibilities
As CRO for Aviva Investors, Steve is responsible for leading the global Risk and Compliance functions. He is responsible for the development and oversight of the risk management framework at Aviva Investors to ensure that risks are effectively identified and managed, as well as for developing the risk culture across the business.
Experience and qualifications
Prior to Aviva Investors and since 2008, Steve was Group Head of Risk at Schroders. In this role he was responsible for the development and oversight of the risk management framework across the global business, covering operational, investment, credit and emerging risks, as well as calculating risk based capital requirements. Prior to this he was Head of Group Market Risk at RBS for four years. This followed a number of roles in risk and audit at RBS, NatWest Group and ING Barings. Steve started his career working for Ernst & Young in their financial services practice. Steve is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds an MA in Economics from Cambridge University.
