Biography

Main responsibilities

Nick is responsible for developing Aviva Investors’ public policy positions across key sectors of the economy to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions. He aims to drive public policy change that will unlock low carbon investment across all sectors of the economy, thereby facilitating Aviva Investors’ gathering of green assets as well as supporting the UK’s and other countries’ transitions to net zero emissions. Nick also regularly feeds climate and net zero policy insights to investment and ESG colleagues across Aviva Investors.

Experience and qualifications

Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Nick was Executive Director at Aldersgate Group where he was responsible for the overall management of the organisation and overseeing a diverse policy programme capturing the net zero transition across multiple sectors of the economy, resource efficiency, nature restoration, green finance, low carbon skills and trade policy. Before that, Nick was Head of Climate and Energy Policy at WWF-UK and Energy and Environmental Law Solicitor at CMS.

He holds a first class NLLB in English Law & German Law from the University of Kent and a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice with Commendation from Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. Nick qualified as a soliictor for England and Wales in 2006.
