Mark Burgess

Mark Burgess was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of both Aviva Investors Holdings Limited and Aviva Investors Global Services Limited in October 2023.  He is also a member of the Aviva Investors Audit, Risk, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

Mark has over 30 years of senior fund management experience and was most recently Chief Investment Officer (CIO) EMEA and Deputy Global CIO for Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a position he held for nine years. 

Prior to that he was Head of Equities for LGIM and he also headed up their corporate governance effort.  He started his career as a UK equity fund manager and held senior roles in this capacity with Deutsche Asset Management in their UK pension fund business. 

Mark was a founding board member of the Investor Forum and chair of the Investment Committee for the Investment Association.  He also served on the advisory panel for the Kingman review into the Financial Reporting Council. Mark is an associate trustee of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and sits on their investment committee.  He is also a Senior Advisor to Teneo UK in the strategy and communications business.
